Venus is a series of 22x30 pieces done entirely in graphite.

 

This series displayed a young woman slowly having her face becoming more and more obstructed the more sexualized she becomes, becoming entrapped and entangled by her own beauty before nothing is left of her identity.

 

Venus represents how a large portion of the world views women to be. Her most "desired" features are exaggerated while features that are not as "wanted" are diminished.

 

A big influence for these pieces were the prehistoric Venus statutes, who have similar exaggerated features.
